The View host Whoopi Goldberg's fake tears over Angelina and Brad Pitt divorce news blasted by furious viewers

The View host Whoopi Goldberg has sparked
fury among viewers after she mocked Brad
Pitt and Angelina Jolie's divorce live on air.
The star pretended to cry as she told the
audience about the news, which she says just
broke before the show started.
"Something has happened in the world that I
just feel so upset about," she said in a silly
accent.
But it didn't go down at all well with viewers
at home.

"You should be ashamed of yourself Whoopi
for making fun of a family breakup. When
devastation happens in a relationship, your
comedic humor has no place there!!!" one
fumed.

Another blasted: "I admire and respect Whoopi
Goldberg, but I thought that her faux
emotional response to the divorce of Ms. Jolie
and Mr. Pitt to be tacky. They are human
beings and their inevitable hurt is real. The
reality is that The View devotes time to a lot
of inane segments. Please keep the silliness
to those segments."

But Whoopi later took to Twitter to insist she
wasn't making fun of the split because she
didn't realise it was confirmed.
"I'm hearing that people thought I was making
fun of the Angel/brad split at 11 am. When I
was asked to do it on The view it was
unsubstantiated and therefore gossip - to me
if u know anything about me you know I hate
talking about...
"So the idea that anyone would think that I
was making fun of the possible divorce
without knowing if it. Was even possible
doesn't make sense (sic)," she said.

Angelina reportedly decided to end her two-
year marriage from the 52-year-old actor after
growing "extremely upset" with how Brad was
parenting their children.
In documents filed to the court, Angelina is
asking for joint legal custody of their six
children - Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11,
Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, eight
- but is seeking sole physical custody.
Angelina has stated in court papers that she is
happy to allow visitation rights.
