7-year-old girl shot 13 times in North Carolina

Authorities say a 7-year-old girl was shot as many as 13 times while sleeping at her grandmother's house in North Carolina.

News outlets cite an autopsy report as showing that the medical examiner found about 20 gunshot wounds on A'yanna Allen's body, from her toes to her chest. The autopsy noted that the complex nature of the wounds made it difficult to determine exactly how many bullets hit the second-grader.

Research has found that cancerw cells can spread unseen, before a tumor develops, and leave a tickingtime bomb in the body. But the scientists who made the discovery say it soon may bepossible for doctors to target these “silent” cancer cells and kill them before they can kill the patient.The researchers said the ability of these early cancer cells to spread while remaining silent for years explains why a patient can die a long time after being treated for what was thought to be a benign tumor, or even no tumor at all.Loading...Experts say 5 percent to 8 percent of cancer patients die of what’s called cancer ofunknown primary, or CUP. President Buhari; PDP did nothing for 16 years

President Muhammadu Buhari says the Peoples Democratic Party which ruled Nigeria for 16 years, accomplished nothing.

Buhari said this while addressing journalists in Daura on Monday after attending Eid prayers, according to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr. Garba Shehu.

He said, “I want Nigerians to realise that what this government inherited after 16 years of the PDP government was no savings, no infrastructure, no power, no rail, no road and no security.”
